This may be one of the most unusual ways of paying for an e-book, but I thought I'd experiment with it and see what happens. I call it an honor system of payment.
What do I mean? It's simple. A large part of Dewey's pictures of ethical excellence celebrate character excellence, that is, building a set of healthy and intelligent habit-arts; they help keep building a safer and more democratic world for everyone. Like a carpenter's tools, such habits can be useful for acting excellently in different situations. As you'll see, the art of practicing intelligent kinds of charity and helpfulness is very important. Many people have some extra money and using it to help those who're trying to make their lives better is an excellent and intelligent character habit to build.
For example, 2 of Dewey's favorite organizations were the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). In fact he helped found both of those orgs. in the early 1900s. So those would be 2 very worthy choices to send at least a $10 donation, but by no means are they the only worthwhile orgs. you may choose. Feel free to donate to any org. advancing the cause of freedom and democracy around the world, and also to those intelligently helping poor people make life better for themselves. Listed below are some other organizations you might choose, but again, they're certainly not the only ones available.
